Heh. When I was a kid, I loved International Velvet. That was Tatum O'Neal, right? never saw National Velvet though.

Loved it, but then again, I think I was in love with Tatum O'Neal.

What about Caddyshack?? Should've won an Oscar, dammit!

I love Scott's Seafood too!

I hope you had a good weekend. I think this was the first weekend that your son would be with his dad.
I hope all went okay.

Legends of the Fall is a wonderful movie. Your heart just bleeds during some of that movie. Love can be so tragic.
I love Sense & Sensibility. I'm a fan of Jane Austen books/movies. My daughter and I went to see Pride & Prejudice around Thanksgiving. It is so funny and wonderfully romantic.

jamie, thanks for your kind thoughts. the weekend went fine for me, and my son was excited to do the sleepover thing. he loves his dad and i hold my tongue and breath and pray that it all goes well for the long term journey ahead. :)

zombie, yep, you're right. if you watch National Velvet, you just might fall in love with the young elizabeth taylor. tatum's character in International Velvet was a brat (type casting, perhaps??)

mr. house, HA! caddyshack is such a guy's movie. i'd only watch that one over & over if i was in love with the guy sitting next to me on the couch. i think i can still quote lines from that movie due to my romantic past life.

footnote: the movie my son currently wants to watch over & over...Groundhog Day, (which he calls The Clock Guy), "momma, can we watch the clock guy?" and he loves Young Frankenstein..."momma, the guy with the big eyes is funny!" and i say, "yes, he is!"

as you can see, i'm giving him a solid foundation comedic arts...saving caddyshack for his highschool lesson plan.

McKay - I was a kid at the time, so I didn't see O'Neal as a brat. I just saw her as a hot young chick.

As for Liz Taylor, one of my English teachers said she used to be the most beautiful woman in the world. She was way before my time, so didn't get to see her in her prime. It would be like if you were a football fan and you only saw Jerry Rice's last year.

We watch Mythbusters sometimes. My son watches it more, but I try and sit with him sometimes and watch it. Those guys do some crazy, fun stuff.

It's almost the weekend again.
Hope yours is a goodie!

You've been to Venice. WOW! The closest I've been has been in Vegas when our family rode the gondola with the guy singing in Italian. It was fun, but it was NOT Venice.

FoxNews and The New Yorker. You are a sophisticated mind, indeed.
