i've seen this victoria's secret commercial a couple of times and never thought much of it. i usually use my tivo to skip the commercials, but yesterday morning i was avoiding doing my household repairs by tapping out the grasshopper post

so, this commercial pops up on my tv and guess what i notice? this lingerie model is wearing MY glasses.

*sigh*
THAT'S the look i was going for: sexy librarian. or, in this case, sexy bra model (minus the bra. well, not minus the bra. keep the bra, just add a sweater).

anyways, she pulls the look off. i don't. just thought i'd share that lil tibbit.

You look great! I love the glasses!

I think you look terrific. Those glasses are very cool indeed.
I think that model is Heidi Klum. She hosts the show Project Runway which my daughter tapes. I've watched a few episodes with her, and Heidi looked fabulous even when she was big pregnant. And by big, I mean the only big thing on her was her pregnant belly.

If we women start comparing ourselves to supermodels, all of us but about maybe 50 women in the world will fall short of their "perfection."

Awww, screw it!! Have a chocolate truffle!

Love the glasses, McKay and you look great (and not an airbrush in sight).

Oh, and forgot to add, I have that body, it must just be the glasses where I'm going wrong! ;)

Why do I find women in glasses hot?

I don't see a difference. You look marvelous in those glasses.

The glasses look great.... and I think you pull off the look better than the model.

I like the specs, and if you were trying to create a "look," then I'd say that you pulled it off. Can't go wrong with the "sexy librarian."

Is that model selling glasses? I must have missed them in the VS catalog.

ego & beth, thanks. yep sexy librarian slant works for me :0)

jd, what i remember most about this commercial is that two models (or their reps...who knows or cares?) were arguing about who was really called The Body. sheesh. i'm not really caught up in that comparing myself to hollywood types...well maybe just a little. i always wanted to be cool like Marcia and have long thick blonde hair like Jan.

cw, i wouldn't know how to airbrush if my life depended on it!

jef, o-o

theresa, you lie like a dog, woman! but thanks. i really like my specs they're fairly new and i'm still not used to wearing glasses.

ellen, you're a lying dog just like theresa!

mikey, i was going for a look (funky retro kinda nerdy yet sexy librarian). glad i got it right ;0)

croc, and your point is..?

Coach,

You have a very nice head. Are you big-boned?

How aout just goig for the sexy look. Every women is sexy if that is how they feel. Now how boring would life be if we all looked like VC models? Just think of the complications it would cause the world. For instance the food supply. None of the VC models eat so if we all looked like that, well we would not have the farmers, growers etc. see that is just one example. I think you look fab in your glasses!

You TOTALLY pull off "the look," are you kidding me??

Don't fret over the VS girls... sure, they stole your look, but you were the originator.

I know it's already been said, but I agree with the consensus. You do pull off that look. Don't be so modest!

You could play the sexy librarian without any problems at all.

I hope you are having a nice weekend.

croc, thanks for the head nod. actually, yes, i’m part of the five percentile that can lay claim to truly being big boned. i’m one generation from scottish immigrant coal miners, who were one generation from scottish farmers, who were one generation from…basically, my roots go back to braveheart kinda kilt wearing men who kick butt. paris hilton, i’m not.

mia, you nailed it. i just don’t feel sexy these days. not to worry though, I’m in the mom zone and i’m going my fair share in keeping the global farming community in the black. ;0) when the time is right i just may bring sexy back.

dave, your words are a wonder tonic. i just hope your nose didn’t grow after you published that comment.

phil, awwhhhh, thanks… but really? i’m too goofy to be the sexy librarian….unless you catch me in the ‘zone’ at work, then i can be oh, so… “yes, i know you make three times my salary, but have seat and i’ll be with you in a moment, after i take a call from the president.”

gary, thanks for your kind words. my weekends are always so much better when I have my son with me, so yep. this weekend ROCKS!!

neil, as well you should, mister.

chelle, i dunno, but it works for me :0). thanks for stopping by. ooo, just saw your picture. you got the look, girlfriend.

hey.... i have those glasses, too!!! (i had to take mine off to look at them and compare.) i guess that means we just have good taste if we are picking the same glasses as the victoria's secret models.

mckay said...

violet, yes, we DO have good taste. ;0)

ellenk, glad you like them, too. they're by perry ellis, and it's hard to read the model number, but i think the style # is PE 702-3 140. i got them at lens crafters. they come in black, too.
