Thursday, August 10, 2006

LONDON — Suspects arrested Thursday for planning to stage a massive mid-air terror attacked were in the final stages of planning and planned to run a dry-run of the plan within two days, U.S. intelligence officers said Thursday.

One official said the suicide attackers planned to use a peroxide-based solution that could ignite when sparked by a camera flash or another electronic device.
The test run was designed to see whether the plotters would be able to smuggle the needed materials aboard the planes, these officials said. They spoke only on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject matter…

I agree wholeheartedly. I have clients who have told me government secrets. It's just not right!

the spooky thing (and i guess it's actually a good thing) is that exactly one minute after i published this post, i had hits from Washington DC and the United Kingdom.

i am all for our Homeland Security folks peeking wherever they need to peek to get the terrorists. read my blog, tap my phone, whatever. i'm not doing anything shocking (other than watching an old brady bunch rerun on nick at night).

i say, "Go Get 'em!!! Show those terrorists some good old fashioned US/UK whoop ass."

this hits home a close for me, as my sister is scheduled to fly home from an international destination in about an hour. I called her as soon as i heard the news on the radio this morning, letting her know there will be airport delays.

my loved ones will be in the skies tonight. fly save and keep the bad guys at bay.

so, mckay now has an fbi file. maybe they'll like my triple berry pie recipe.

cool.

Mckay, you are one funny chick! If nothing else, I hope the FBI is rolling in the aisles laughing over your last sentence.... triple berry pie recipe...LOL!

On a serious note... I wish a safe flight for your sister.

This whole plot makes me feel sick. What else will they make us lose, restroom privileges? We can't even bring bottled water on board now.

Which means they were successful even without blowing anything up. We change our lifestyle because of them.

I agree.
I only want to hear what is declassified, not the things that are classified. They are classified for a reason. I value safety over my "need" to know.

We have to take off the gloves and fight dirty. I cringe whenever I hear talk of appeasement or "negotiating" with these thugs. They are like cockroaches. They must be killed or they will continue to train up others (reproduce) and overrrun all freedom loving nations.

McKay -

what a wonderful editorial on the importance of OPSEC.

Sometimes though, the government *leaks* stuff, then pretends indignation when it shows up in the media. It's all strategy...
